Are the paintings originals?

All the paintings offered in the online art galleries are original and hand painted by Francesca Jackson. No copies are made, which means that each painting is unique, a one-off. Paintings are individually signed by Francesca Jackson.

How accurate are the pictures shown?

Every reasonable effort is taken to ensure the photographic images displayed on this web site accurately reflect the painting as viewed in person, or to provide a detailed description if they deviate from an accurate representation.

However, please be aware that digital pictures can look very different from monitor to monitor and computer to computer, depending on the user's settings and whether or not the monitor has been calibrated. There can be huge variations in colour and contrast when viewing the same images, especially on older monitors and laptops. Furthermore, all our image processing is carried out on Apple computers, using calibrated Apple displays, which reproduce colours more accurately than many PC monitors, and this may result in some differences.

To view the images at their optimum quality, the monitor should be set to a resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels (1024 x 768 is better!). The colour setting should be 'millions'. Go to our Help page for more advice.

Taking everything into account, if the precise shade or degree of darkness is essential, it is recommended that a piece is purchased in person.

How big is the painting?

The painting's dimensions are provided in its description. If you are looking for a particular size or you’re purchasing a piece to display in a specific location, a good idea is to tape together pieces of standard sized paper to the size stated in the description. Or, if you don’t know what size might look right (or wrong) for a particular location, this is a good way of getting an idea of what works (or doesn’t).

How do I care for my painting?

The paintings have a protective top coat, unless otherwise stated in the description. All that should be necessary is an occasional wipe with a barely-damp cloth to remove dust.

What exactly am I purchasing?

The purchaser owns the physical painting and right of resale of that piece.

All copyrights and any other intangible rights to the painting and its design are retained by Francesca Jackson. The painting must not be reproduced or used as a basis for derivative works. The purchase of a painting does not imply that the buyer owns the license to use the image for commercial purposes.
